Sautéed Apples

For Father’s Day I made an Applie Pie for The Hubs. In the days leading up to Father’s Day I was trying to figure out what fun tasting dessert I could make for myself. I had found a recipe for sautéed apples and decided to give it a try. The first time, I didn’t cook the apples long enough and season them enough. The second time, they ended up caramelized. Which wasn’t bad, but now I need to find a happy medium. They both ways tasted good, so as far as how long you cook it will be up to you.

This is an awesome healthy dessert or you could use this as a topping over ice cream. 😉 You’re choice!

Ingredients
1-2 Apples, I used Koru or Honeycrisp
2 tsp Clarified Butter or regular butter
Cinnamon, to taste
Nutmeg, to taste
pinch of Salt
dash of Sugar, don’t use of on Whole30

Directions
Peel, cut, slice apples into thin slices.
Place the applies in a bowl and add in the cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar.
Mix together well and let sit for about 5 minutes to allow some juicing to happen.
(Not much will happen but it seemed to help bring out more flavor)
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter.
Once the butter is melted, add the apples in a single layer and allow to cook for several minutes on both sides and then stir frequently as not to burn.
Serve warm!
