I have a love hate relationship with holidays, mostly Christmas and Easter. I love the real meaning of both. I love that we have Christmas and Easter to celebrate the birth of Christ and the resurrection of Christ and what that means for all of us. I don’t like all of the commercial. I don’t like the world has shut out the true meaning, for the most part, of both seasons.
Before we even had kids, we decided that there would be no Santa or Easter Bunny. We decided that we were going to focus on the real meaning of each holiday and not the commercialism. It was our own personal decision and we go flack for it then and still get flack for it now.
I know that there is symbolism behind Santa, not sure about the Easter Bunny though, but what’s wrong with just being real and to the point?
