This past year, since I’ve gotten big into using my slow cooker, we saved the roasts from The Hubs elk and deer he got instead of turning everything into ground meat. So a few weeks ago we decided to give it a try and it was delicious. Ours turned out a little dry. I think it’s because our roast was pretty small, so we learned a lesson. We probably could have gotten away with cooking it for 4-5 hours instead of the 8 we did it for. So don’t forget to take into consideration the size of your roast when cooking it and adjust the time accordingly.
1 Roast, 4-5lbs
1 pk Brown Gravy mix, dry
1 pk dried Italian Salad Dressing Mix
1 pk Ranch Dressing Mix, dry
1/2 cup Water
Place roast in slow cooker.
Mix together the dried ingredients in a bowl and spring over the roast.
Pour the water around the roast.
Cook on low for 7-9 hours.
