Christ’s Earthly Ministry & Second Coming

This week and next week we are going to be talking about the Second Coming. This topic has always intrigued me. There is a lot to learn and watch for, but at the same time, there isn’t much that we know or can learn and we just have to be patient and prepare ourselves and our families for when it does come.

This week are talking more about the things we can learn from scriptures and the lesson suggest going through the hymn Jesus Once of Humble Birth (hymn 196) and comparing His earthly ministry to His second coming. We sing this song often enough in church, at least I have, that I have never really thought about the worlds. So I took a deeper look and wanted to show you what the comparison looks like…

After going through the song and making the comparisons, it truly is amazing to see how different the two events are and will be. To see all the Christ went through in order to provide the Atonement for us and then come to save us. He truly is an amazing example, the only example, of selflessness, meekness, and humility.

I love this time of year and the chance focus more on the Savior. We should be focusing on Him every day of our lives. But that can be hard. I am very grateful for 1 month out of the year to truly spend the time thinking about Him more and being grateful for the sacrifices He made for me.

I am looking forward to celebrating His birth with my family and teaching my kids about him.

If you are looking for a way to focus each day more on the Savior and His birth and earthly ministry, go to 25daysofchrist.com and following along with their advent. We started doing it last year and Little Man loved watching his Jesus videos every day and was sad when it was over. He has been enjoying them again these last few days. I am so grateful for them and the work they put into the advent to help us focus more on Christ.

Here is a clip from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing Jesus Once of Humble Birth.

Have a beautiful Sabbath day!
